Where can you get a dremel nail filers for dogs?

My mother has a pomeranian / Chihuahua mix and this weekend I am taking care of her, I live in a small town so I don't know where I could get one, target, walmart, kmart? But her nails are almost more than an inch long, I know the quick grows when the nail grows so I don't want to clip, I was thinking about using a regular nail filer. Anyone either have any suggestions or know where I could find one?Where can you get a dremel nail filers for dogs?
You can get a dremel at walmart, but do not attempt to do this by yourself with a dog who is not familiar with it. A dremel may sound easier to you, but it might sound absolutely terrifying to your dog. I personally find a dremel is more difficult to use than a clipper.

You cannot dremel any farther down than you can clip - a dremel can still make a dog's quicks bleed. Where can you get a dremel nail filers for dogs?
Take her to a groomer to get her nails cut. On nails that long it is best to get it done by someone who does it all of the time. Even then sometimes the quick gets cut cause if the nails are dark you can not see the quick.

Most dogs don't like their feet messed with %26amp; you will have a very hard time trying to do it with a grinder cause of the vibration %26amp; noise. Letting the nails grow out that far causes problems in the dogs angulation in both shoulders %26amp; hips %26amp; causes the dog to ';pad';, walk on the big pad of the foot instead of up on their toes like dogs are susposed to walk.

When I was grooming I charged $5.00 to cut nails. It is probably more expensive now cause it was about 8 years ago when I was grooming.
We just ordered a Peticure ( http://www.peticure.com/ ) and it works great. It is an electric nail filer with a protective guard on it to make easier to file the nails. If you need one fast they have similar products at Petsmart. We only file our dogs nails as they hate the clippers. They weren't sure about the noise from this at first but they don't seem to mind it now and it works great!

Good Luck!

Try a hardware store. Dremels are multi-purpose tools. Or the beauty section - I have no idea what they're called, but isn't there an electric nail filer?

Stay away from pet stores - the going price is around $60. I think you can get a wood-working dremel at Lowes for about $30.

You can find a dremel in any store like Walmart, etc., but it will be in the tool section, not the pet section. The thing people see on tv called the Peticure is basically the same thing with a guard on it.
A regular nail file won't work. You can get a Dremel with the sanding drum (which is what I've used) at Home depot or anyplace else that sells hardware and tools. Also, Google it and you can buy it mailorder
i bought a peticure for my dogs, and its great, but you have to order it online. its worth the money though, lightweight and pretty quiet. to find one in a store i'd try petco, i worked at one years ago and i know they carried them then.
