I would suggest treating yourself to a manicure to see how the professionals do it! One girl said to soak nails, never soak nails! Your nails will expand in water, then after you put the polish on the nails will shrink back to their original size. This is the biggest mistake when doing manicures all because of one idiots invention! Files come in all sorts of grits. The higher the number of grits, the more fine it is. Think of sandpaper! So usually, a high grit file will be white in colour while the lower count grit files are usually black. I recommend about 180 grit for you. The first step is to use the file (lightly) on the whole nail to remove any ridges and then to shape the nail. Then use a buffer to bring out the nails natural shine. If you can find a 4 sided nail file/buffer, that would be the best! If your using polish, you don't have to buff the nail, but you should use a low acetone (nail polish remover) to remove any dirt or oils from your nails. Always use a base coat, as many polishes will stain the nail. Two coats of polish, and a top coat to prevent chipping! As for painting with your left hand, it does take practise, but it will help if you ';anchor'; your pinky on your hand or table. This will help stabilize your hand! For the dirt, not a ot you can do other than keep claening them. I like to use a metal nail file for that! Good luck!Whats the difference between a nail filer and a nail buffer?
A nile filer trims your nails to make them shorter/ shape them. A nail buffer makes them shiny.

Also, everyone's nails get dirty, you just have to clean them. take a small nail scissor and with one side clean what's under your nails everyday.

Also, if you can't paint your nails with your left hands just practice until you can or ask someone to do it for you - you can't really do anything about that but practice.

For a self manicure - soak in hot water, cut cuticles, file nails, buff nails, and put lotion on. Then, paint with clear coat and/or a color if you like.
you use a nail file to shape the nails straight across the edges. you use a buffer to smooth the nails so they are soft and shiny by rub it across your whole nails on the surface. a good manicure would consist of: file your nails into a nice shape square or oval, buff them so they are smooth, put some hand cream on then push back your cuticles if you need to and paint with a nice colour. you could get someone else to paint your left hand or just keep practising. if you get any polish on the skin just use some remover on a cotton bud. to keep your nails clean just make sure you wash your hands a lot.
