Is is safe to use a dog nail filer on a puppy?

not newborn, but a small puppy.

it has long nails but theyre so small. i'm worried it might hurt him.Is is safe to use a dog nail filer on a puppy?
u shouldn't need to file them most pups have long nails just take him out on concrete when u go 4 a walk! that worked 4 me with my dogs when they was pups!Is is safe to use a dog nail filer on a puppy?
It should be fine, just make sure you stop before getting to the quick. You have to make sure the quick of the nail is visible and try not to file that or cut it or the dog will be in pain and it will bleed.
Yes its fine i have a dog and a 8 ont old kitten and i use it on my kitten all the time
If you mean a pedipaw then i think its alright, it will get them used to it for when they're older, cause older dogs do not like pedipaws, trust me haha.
You probably should not use a nail filer.

However you can purchase small dog nail clippers from your local pet store that will be a lot safer and easier.

They are generally around $5

:)
Just do it gently and slowly as the puppy's nails are more delicate.
Yes its fine just be careful.
